Error message RET_RECORD_CORE_INVALID_CLIENT_CERT

If you see an error message, "Errors were encountered with this item" or "RET_RECORD_CORE_INVALID_CLIENT_CERT" , while opening a book in Adobe Digital Editions versions 4.5.7.181275 or 4.5.7.181695, follow the steps defined in the section, Solution.

The error occurs due to the expiration of an Adobe Digital Edition certificate.

Solution

Update to a new version of Adobe Digital Editions.

Follow the steps below to update to a new version.

Windows

  1. Download the update from the Adobe Digital Editions Download site, https://www.adobe.com/solutions/ebook/digital-editions/download.html

  2. To install the application, click the .exe file.

Mac

  1. Download the update from the Adobe Digital Editions Download site, https://www.adobe.com/solutions/ebook/digital-editions/download.html

  2. To install the application, click the .dmg file.

iOS

  1. Uninstall the Adobe Digital Editions app from the device.

  2. From the App Store, install the updated version of Adobe Digital Editions.

Android

  1. Uninstall the Adobe Digital Editions app from the device.

  2. From the Play Store, install the updated version of Adobe Digital Editions.
