This article shows you how to integrate the Adobe Experience Cloud solutions using Dynamic Tag Management, and then deploy tags to Adobe Experience Manager Sites.
You'll Learn
  • How to create and configure an Analytics report suite to collect analytics data
  • How to create a property in Dynamic Tag Management (DTM) and set up the Experience Cloud ID service, Adobe Analytics, Adobe Target, and Adobe Audience Manager
  • How to configure the Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) to Dynamic Tag Management integration
  • How to test and validate your implementation
  • Adobe Experience Manager deployment completed or in-progress. This guide shows you how to integrate the Adobe Experience Cloud tools with AEM, but does not cover the AEM deployment process.

  • Adobe Analytics Administrator privileges to create a report suite.

  • Adobe DTM Admin privileges to create a web property.

  • A DTM API key is required for this integration. If you do not have this API key, contact Adobe Support or contact a community expert at the Activation Community forums.

Use Cases

Step 1: Create and Configure an Analytics Report Suite

Adobe Analytics collects, analyzes, and reports data for all Experience Cloud solutions. In this step, you create a report suite to collect analytics data. This report suite is associated with a web property in the next step.

If the websites you are hosting in AEM sites have similar metrics and performance indicators, you can use a single report suite along with separate virtual report suites for each web property.

  • Can I use virtual report suites?
Virtual report suites are recommended for roll-up and individual reporting for sites or site sections.
  • Do I need real-time reports beyond the setup phase?
Real-time reports provide limited reporting within minutes of collection.

  1. Enable real-time reports. Real-time reports are essential during the setup phase to quickly see data in your report suite. After verification these reports can be disabled if they are not needed.

Step 2: Create a Web Property in Dynamic Tag Management

Dynamic Tag Management is used to deploy page tags for the Experience Cloud ID Service, Analytics, Target, and other Experience Cloud solutions. In this step you set up a DTM property and add marketing tools.

(add property 0:36; mcid 1:05; Analytics 2:00; EU compliance 2:40; Target 5:05; at.js in DTM 6:00; approvals and publish 8:10; Audience Manager server-side integration 10:00; code upgrade 13:30)

  1. Create a web property.

  2. Add an Adobe Analytics tool.

  3. Add an Adobe Target tool.

  4. Enable Audience Manager server-side forwarding.

  • Set up a Digital Data Layer. A “data layer” is a framework of JavaScript objects your developers would put on your pages that can be used by tracking tools (including tag management systems like DTM) to populate reports. Data layers are explained in Implement Analytics Data Collection and Reporting.

Step 3: Integrate Marketing Tools Using the AEM to DTM Integration

Adobe Experience Manager provides an integration to quickly deploy DTM properties on your sites.
