Proportional scaling does not work using Shift key | macOS

When you try to use some of the InDesign features using keyboard keys, they do not work. Some of the examples are:

• Proportional scaling using Shift key.
• Zoom tool using command+space keys.

This issue occurs because of the Secure Keyboard Entry setting in macOS which gets enabled by some of the third-party software, such as Webroot.

Solution

Pause Secure Keyboard Entry

To resolve this issue, pause Secure Keyboard Entry from the security software installed on your system. For example, follow the steps below if you have Webroot SecureAnywhere installed on your system.
