Adobe Preview CC FAQ

Preview CC is no longer available for download or actively maintained as of October 2017. Additionally, the Device Preview functionality has been removed from the October 2017 release of Photoshop CC. If you have a previously-downloaded version of Preview CC on your iOS device, you can continue to use it on an as-is basis with earlier versions of Photoshop.

Adobe Preview CC is a Photoshop companion iOS app that lets you preview designs in real-time as you edit them in Photoshop. Using Preview CC, you can make sure designs appear on actual devices exactly how you want them to appear. Preview CC speeds up the design process and reduces the time required to test on multiple screen sizes.

If you have a document with artboards, Device Preview attempts to show you the correct artboard by matching the size and position of the artboard with the size of the connected device.

You can connect Preview CC to Photoshop using a USB connection or over Wi-Fi.

While connecting to Photoshop for the first time, Preview CC requires that the Device Preview panel in Photoshop is open. Any subsequent connections don’t require this panel to be open.

You’ll need to sign in to your Creative Cloud account using an Adobe ID to use Preview CC over Wi-Fi.

There's no specific limit on the number of devices you can connect. Keep in mind that the more devices you have simultaneously connected, the more bandwidth it will take to send images, which might reduce the speed of the preview process.

To begin with, download and install iTunes on your computer. Now, ensure the following before connecting Preview CC to Photoshop using a USB port:

  • Preview CC is up and running on your device.
  • The USB cable is connected to the computer running Photoshop.
  • The Device Preview panel in Photoshop is open.

To connect Preview CC to Photoshop over Wi-Fi, do the following:

  • Sign in to Adobe Preview CC using your Creative Cloud account.
  • Make sure that Adobe Photoshop and your device are on the same Wi-Fi network.
  • Ensure that the Device Preview panel in Photoshop is open.
