On some Windows RS3 devices, you can run into an issue where additional XD windows cannot be opened. This affects workflows such as as preview, libraries, or opening a new document window.

This problem can occur when opening XD using the Start menu in Microsoft Windows.


  1. Start the XD application.

  2. Right-click the XD app icon on the taskbar and select Pin to taskbar.

  3. Close the XD application.

  4. Launch XD by clicking the XD icon on the taskbar instead of the Start menu.

Now you can open multiple XD windows without issues.
