Subfolders have incorrect date format | Windows

When you download assets (photos and videos) from your camera or card reader using Adobe Photo Downloader, subfolders are created with the incorrect date format.

The dates are created in "yyyy dd mm" format, although you selected the "yyyy mm dd" format.

Windows: Replace the existing Photodownloader.exe file with a new version

Replace the existing Photodownloader.exe file with a new version.

  1. Navigate to one of the following folders:

    • 32-bit Windows: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Elements 10 Organizer
    • 64-bit Windows: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 10 Organizer
  2. Delete the file Photodownloader.exe

    Note: Depending on your settings in Windows, the file extension (".exe") could be hidden.

  3. Click the following link to download the update file.

    Click here to download 

  4. Unzip the downloaded file to extract the new Photodownloader.exe file.

  5. Move Photodownloader.exe to the folder in step 1.

Mac OS: Update Elements Organizer with the new Photo Downloader

  1. Download the file.


  2. Double-click the downloaded file to uncompress it.

  3. Double-click the uncompressed PSE10_Hotfix.dmg file to mount it.

  4. Open the PSE10_Hotfix folder and run AdobePatchInstaller.
