Use sRGB color space and conversion settings to ensure consistent color display across web browsers and devices.

Web images appear on devices with varying color capabilities. The sRGB color space matches typical consumer monitor characteristics, ensuring your images appear as intended across the widest range of viewing devices.

Configure sRGB as your working color space

Ensure you have images with embedded color profiles open on Photoshop 2023 or later.

Select Edit > Color Settings.

In the Working Spaces section, verify that the RGB dropdown displays sRGB IEC61966-2.1.

If a different RGB working space is selected, choose sRGB IEC61966-2.1 from the dropdown.

In the Color Management Policies section, set RGB to Convert to Working RGB.

Select OK to save your settings.

Photoshop now creates new RGB documents using sRGB and automatically converts opened images with different color profiles to sRGB.

Convert an existing image to sRGB

Select Edit > Convert to Profile.

In the Destination Space section, choose sRGB IEC61966-2.1 from the Profile dropdown.

In Conversion Options, keep Engine set to Adobe (ACE) and Intent set to Relative Colorimetric.

Verify that Use Black Point Compensation remains checked.

Select Preview to see how the conversion affects your image.

Select OK to apply the conversion.

After conversion, save your image in a web-appropriate format like JPEG or PNG.
