Find answers to frequently asked questions about SFTP or any secure way of getting content into the Scene7 system.

Is it possible to set up SFTP so it only accepts content from a trusted source?

Unfortunately, it is not possible to set up the shared secret method since it is a server-wide setting. It would impact all Adobe Scene7 customers.

Is there an option to SCP images, instead of FTP? Or, can we set up a password-less login so that we can SCP as part of a script?

SCP is enabled by default. Any client can connect via SCP to the server. They are prompted to enter their password.

However, if it's necessary to upload via SCP without entering a password, then do the following:

  1. Have the client generate an SSH key in RFC 4716 format. For example,
    root@localhost:$ ssh-keygen -e -f >
    root@localhost:$ cat
    ---- BEGIN SSH2 PUBLIC KEY ----
Comment: "1023-bit RSA, converted by usera@localhost.localdomain from "
    ---- END SSH2 PUBLIC KEY ----
  2. Send the file to Tech Support to configure it.

This method works for SFTP as well.

Is it possible to use SFTP?

Adobe's FTP servers, s7ftp[X], currently accept SFTP connections, as well as FTP.
