Local Sync Database Damaged

Issue

When you launch Lightroom Classic, you get a dialogue to Quit because of some damage in local sync database.

Solution

Follow the below steps to rectify the problem :

  1. Close Lightroom Classic.

  2. Navigate to the following location (Lightroom Classic catalog location), locate the Wfindex file and remove it.

    Windows

    • Users > [username] > Pictures > Lightroom > Lightroom Classic customer catalog sync.lrdata > latest folder > Managed catalog.wfindex.

    • Or users can open the lightroom classic catalog folder from the system if custom location is used for storing the catalog.

    macOS

    • Users > [username] > Pictures > Lightroom > Lightroom Classic customer catalog sync.lrdata > latest folder > Managed Catalog.wfindex
    • Or users can open the lightroom classic catalog folder from the system if custom location is used for storing the catalog.
  3. Launch Lightroom Classic and allow it to sync the catalog.

  4. If the users still face issues, they can navigate to the same folder and remove Managed catalog.mcat file. 

ملاحظة:

Retain the old MCAT file until you have verified that the catalog has been recovered completely. Once sure, you can delete Managed Catalog.old file.

Issue

Some users may face a ‘Local Sync Database Issue’ when launching Lightroom Classic

Solution

Restart Lightroom Classic. 

ملاحظة:
  1. Deleting the mcat file might cause the users to lose some local unsynced data.
  2. For some users, moving the catalog storage to internal storage might resolve this issue.
