Use Asset Reports to generate reports for various events related to assets in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Assets. AEM administrators can generate reports of the following events:

  • Asset uploads
  • Asset downloads
  • Asset expiration
  • Modification of assets
  • Publishing of assets

Generate Asset Upload reports

Generate an Asset Added report to view the details of assets uploaded to Adobe Experience Manager Assets during a specified period.

  1. Click/tap the AEM logo, and go to Tools > Assets > Asset Reports.

  2. From the Reports list, select the desired option. Asset Added is selected by default. To create a report for assets that were uploaded to AEM Assets, leave the default option selected.

  3. To generate a report for assets that were uploaded during a period relative to the current date, click/tap In The Last and adjust the timescale to hour, week, month, or year.

  4. To generate a report for assets that were uploaded during a specific period, click Date Range and select the start and end dates.

  5. Click Generate Report.


    The report is displayed on the page.

  6. To customize your report, click Customize Columns in the toolbar.

  7. In the Customize Columns dialog, select or deselect the available options to add or remove these options from the report. Click Submit.

  8. To export the report in the CSV format, click Export to CSV.



    In the CSV file, the column values appear the same as they appear in the report on the Asset Reports page, except when you select a relative period for the asset report. In this case, while the report displays the relative time when the asset was added, the value in the exported CSV file specifies the exact time of upload.

Generate other reports

The procedure to generate other reports, including asset downloads, expiration, modification, and publishing is similar to the procedure described for uploading assets.

  1. Before you can generate an Asset Downloaded report, enable the Asset Download service. From the web console (http://[server name]:[port name]/system/console/configMgr), open the Day CQ DAM Event Recorder configuration, and select the Asset Downloaded (DOWNLOADED) option in Event Types.

  2. Click/tap the AEM logo to go to Tools Assets > Asset Reports.

  3. From the Reports list, select the Asset Downloaded option.

    By default, the Content Fragments and link shares are included in the Asset Downloaded report. Select the appropriate option to create a report of link shares or to exclude Content Fragments from the download report.

  4. Specify the relative period or the date range for which you want to generate the report.

  5. Click Generate Report.

  6. Customize the report columns and export the report to a CSV file, if necessary.
