Troubleshoot WebGL in Elements on the Web

Reason

This could be due to the following reasons: 

  1. The browser does not support WebGL.
  2. The 'Use hardware acceleration' in the browser settings is disabled.
  3. The browser isn't updated to the latest version.

Solution

  1. Ensure your browser supports WebGL:

  2. Ensure your browser has the 'Use hardware acceleration' setting enabled:

    • Open a browser window and type "browsername://settings/" for example: chrome://settings/
    • At the bottom of the settings page, select "Advanced".
    • Locate "Use hardware acceleration" under the "System" and enable it.
    • Relaunch the Browser.
  3. Ensure your browser is up-to-date:

     Google Chrome

    1. Open Chrome.
    2. Open the menu and Click on the three dots in the top-right corner.
    3. Go to Help > About Google Chrome.
    4. Chrome will automatically check for updates and install them if available. If your browser is up to date, it will display the message "Google Chrome is up to date".

    Microsoft Edge

    1. Open Edge.
    2. Open the menu and Click on the three dots in the top-right corner.
    3. Go to Help and Feedback> About Microsoft Edge.
    4. Edge will automatically check for updates and install them if available. If your browser is up to date, it will display the message "Microsoft Edge is up to date".

    Safari (Mac)

    1. Open Safari.
    2. Click on Safari in the menu bar at the top, and then select About Safari.
    3. This will show the current version of Safari. To check for updates, you need to update your macOS. Go to the Apple menu > System Preferences > Software Update.
    4. If updates are available, they will be listed here, and you can install them.
