CQ5.3 with Feature Pack 30015: Site Admin and DAM Admin Folders with Sub-Folders are Not Expandable

After installing Feature Pack 30015 in CQ5.3, some folders that should be expandable in the Site Admin or DAM Admin tree panel are no longer expandable.

Cause

A limitation was added to the Site Admin and DAM Admin as part of Feature Pack 30015. The default limitation is 30. This means if a folder has more than 30 sub-nodes, it will not be expandable.

Resolution

You can increase the limit to 500 by doing the following:

1. Login to /crx as admin, e.g. http://<host>:<port>/crx/login.jsp
2. Open CRX Explorer
3. Browse to /libs/wcm/core/content/siteadmin and set a property treeAutoExpandMax of type Long with value 500
4. Browse to /libs/wcm/core/content/damadmin and set a property treeAutoExpandMax of type Long with value 500
5. Save all

Creating an Overlay

Alternatively you can create an overlay in the /apps section as well. The steps almost remain the same. 

1. Login to /crx as admin, e.g. http://<host>:<port>/crx/login.jsp
2. Open CRX Explorer
3. Create the same structure as /wcm/core/content and /libs/wcm/core/content underneath /apps.
4. Copy the siteadmin and damadmin nodes from /libs/wcm/core/content/siteadmin and /libs/wcm/core/content/damadmin respectively.
5. Browse to /apps/wcm/core/content/siteadmin and set a property treeAutoExpandMax of type Long with value 500 and set a lower value for sling:vanityOrder
6. Browse to /apps/wcm/core/content/damadmin and set a property treeAutoExpandMax of type Long with value 500 and set a lower value for sling:vanityOrder.
7. Save all
