Issue: Print Settings button does not work
The Print Settings button does not respond when you choose Printer Manages Color in Adobe Photoshop's Print dialog box.
This issue can occur when you use an older printer driver, or when files have been printed with an older printer driver.
Sometimes, the printer driver's preferences can become damaged. Solution 3 (macOS) and Solution 5 (Windows) remove the driver, which also removes the driver's preferences.
Solution 1: Clear saved print settings from your file
-
-
Hold down the Spacebar and select File > Print.
-
Set Color Handling to the desired setting.
-
Try clicking the Print Settings button.
Solution 2: Toggle Color Handling setting
-
Select File > Print and change Color Handling to Printer Manages Colors.
-
Change Color Handling back to Photoshop Manages Colors.
-
Try clicking the Print Settings button.
Solution 3: Remove the printer and reinstall the most recent driver (macOS)
-
Open System Preferences, navigate to Printers & Scanners and remove all printers of the same brand from the printers listed in the lefthand column.
-
Open System Preferences, navigate to Printers & Scanners and click the + icon at the bottom of the lefthand column to add your printer.
-
Try clicking the Print Settings button.
Solution 4: Set another printer as the default printer (Windows)
-
Quit Photoshop.
-
If your printer is the Windows default printer, set a different printer as the default. For details on setting a printer as the default, see How to set a default printer in Windows 10.
-
Select File > Print and change Color Handling to Photoshop Manages Colors, click Print Settings, and click Done or OK.
-
Quit Photoshop.
-
Set your previous printer as the default in Windows.
-
Open an image, and choose File > Print.
-
Try clicking the Print Settings button.
