Overview: Deploying Creative Cloud for enterprise

Creative Cloud for enterprise supports custom deployments and flexible license true-ups, and it works with other Adobe enterprise offerings.

Named User Licensing

Named user licensing is the default and most popular licensing method to deploy and use Adobe Creative Cloud and Document Cloud products. Designed for the network-connected scenario where app licenses are managed based on individual user need for use of the app. Using named user licensing, you can provide your end users with the full functionality of the software and services. Giving your end-users access to all the available apps and services based on your organization's entitlements.

Shared device Licensing

Shared Device License is a licensing method targeted at educational institutions where software is assigned to a device instead of an individual. Anyone who logs on to the device will have access to Adobe's products and services.

Shared Device Licensing is ideal for desktop computer labs and classrooms. For example, you can install Creative Cloud apps in your computer labs to allows students and teachers, with access to these computers, to use the apps and services that are available as part of your license agreement with Adobe. More information.

Serial Number Licensing (legacy)

A historical method of anonymous licensing, and is not tied to an individual user, but to a particular computer. More Information.

Education Enterprise Agreement (EEA)

The Adobe Education Enterprise Agreement (EEA) offers substantial savings to primary and secondary schools on volume software purchases of Creative Cloud apps and other Adobe software. EEA provides schools access to feature releases and updates for the products licensed over the EEA term. 

Deployment nuances

As an EEA customer you will deploy and license products using an Adobe Supplied serial number and the Creative Cloud Packager which are both obtained by going to Adobe’s Licensing Website (LWS).

In Addition to Creative Cloud Applications, you may also as part of your EEA Agreement receive access to additional applications such Adobe Captivate, Adobe Presenter, and the Adobe Elements products. These applications will also be packaged using the Admin Console or Creative Cloud Packager. Deployment nuances

Security is paramount to government and usually offline deployment is a requirement for government organizations. By using Creative Cloud Packager and a serial number both of which can be obtained from Adobe’s Licensing Website (LWS) only the system creating the initial deployment package is required to be online. All subsequent clients that have this package installed will get the applications but there will be no request for online access or an Adobe ID.
