How to set the CQ servlet engine's default session timeout

Question

We are using sessions in our CQ5 application and we would like to reconfigure the Quickstart server's (aka CQSE or CQ Servlet Engine) default session timeout.

Answer, Resolution

The default session-timeout for the CQSE can be configured in the /crx-quickstart/server/etc/web.xml as follows:

<web-app>
<servlet>
<servlet-name>JSPServlet</servlet-name>
<servlet-class>org.apache.jasper.servlet.JspServlet</servlet-class>
<init-param>
<param-name>classpath</param-name>
<param-value>lib/common/servlet-api-2.4.jar;lib/common/jsp-api-2.0.jar</param-value>
</init-param>
</servlet>
<servlet-mapping>
<servlet-name>JSPServlet</servlet-name>
<url-pattern>*.jsp</url-pattern>
</servlet-mapping>

<session-config><session-timeout>1</session-timeout></session-config>

</web-app>

The value in the session-timeout element is in "minutes".
