Type tool stuck in Caps Lock position

Issue: The Type tool types as if the Caps Lock is on

Even when the Caps Lock is not enabled/active, the Type tool types only in capitalized text.

Solution: Reset the Type tool defaults or Photoshop Elements preferences

Solution 1: Reset the Type tool

1. In Photoshop Elements Editor, select the Type Tool.
   
2. In the Tools Options area, click the pop-up menu, and click Reset Tools.
   
3. Restart Photoshop Elements Editor.

Solution 2: Reset Photoshop Elements preferences

(Try this solution if the resetting the Type tool does not work)

1. Do one of the following:
   • Windows: Open Photoshop Elements Editor > Edit menu > Preferences > General
     
   • Mac OS: Open Photoshop Elements Editor menu > Preferences > General
2. Select the Reset Preferences on next Launch option.
3. Restart Photoshop Elements Editor.
