Adobe Genuine Software Validation Failure

The following alert appears when you attempt to launch the Adobe Application Manager (AAM) from your hard disk:

"Adobe Genuine Software Validation Failure. The product you are trying to install is not an Adobe Genuine Software and appears to be counterfeit."

Solution 1

If you are a Creative Cloud member using Windows 7 or later, and you receive this message when installing a CS6 product, download the product from the Creative Cloud Download Center. See Install previous versions of apps.

If you are not a Creative Cloud member or using an older OS than listed above, download and install the AAM patch.

Solution 2

Launch any of the Creative Cloud applications on your computer. Then, choose Help > Updates. This updates AAM and installs any other updates selected.

Solution 3

Additional information

There was a certificate revocation on October 4, 2012. Now, the Adobe Application Manager updates when you download a new application from creative.adobe.com, or start a CS6 application and select Help > Update. But if you launch Adobe Application Manager from the hard disk, the self update fails.
