Install Photoshop Elements from a disk

Before you begin

  • Ensure that you have the required hardware and software to run Photoshop Elements. Check the system requirements.
  • Ensure that you have a DVD drive (not a CD drive) connected to your computer.
  • Temporarily disable the anti-virus software. Disabling the anti-virus program speeds up the installation process.
  • Locate the serial number. The serial number is on the back of the DVD case.

Note: If you have purchased the product from Best Buy, peel the sticker at the back of the box. Use the redemption code to generate your serial number online. If you do not have an Internet connection, contact customer support. For more information, see Find a serial number

 

Install Adobe Photoshop Elements on Microsoft Windows

  1. Insert the Adobe Photoshop Elements DVD (disc 1) in your computer.

  2. In the Adobe Photoshop Elements dialog box, click Install Adobe Photoshop Elements.

    Note:

    If you close the dialog box or the security settings do not permit AutoPlay, browse to the DVD using Windows Explorer and double-click Setup.exe. If any security warnings display, click Yes.

  3. In the Choose Setup Language dialog box, choose a language and click OK.

  4. In the Welcome screen, click Next to start the installation process.

  5. In the License Agreement dialog box, click Accept.

  6. In the Product Configuration screen, select your country/region of residence. Some of the default settings are decided based on the country you choose.

  7. Choose the option to install the licensed version and enter the serial number.

    Note:

    You can choose to install as a trial and enter the serial number later. Select a country/region of residence for the trial version.

  8. Click Next to install at the default location. To modify the install location, click Change and select a folder on your computer for installing the software.

  9. Click Install.

  10. The installer copies the files to your computer. When the installation is complete, click Finish.

Install Adobe Photoshop Elements on Mac OS

  1. Insert the Adobe Photoshop Elements DVD (disc 2) in your computer.

  2. In the Adobe Photoshop Elements dialog box, click Install Adobe Photoshop Elements.

  3. Navigate to Adobe Photoshop Elements 11/Install.app and launch the installer.

  4. In the Welcome screen, click Accept.

  5. Enter the serial number and choose a language. Click Next.

    Note:

    You can choose to install as a trial and enter the serial number later. Select a language for the trial version.

  6. (Optional) Enter your Adobe ID. Click Next.

  7. In the Install Options screen, click Install.

  8. The installer copies the files to your computer. When the installation is complete, click Done.
