Overview

The Asset Panel in Adobe Captivate is a feature that allows you to manage and organize the various assets used in your e-learning projects. It provides a centralized location to access different resources, such as images, audio files, videos, and slides.

The asset panel lets you import and preview new assets into your project. The Asset Panel also provides options to edit and modify the properties of assets, such as resizing images or adjusting audio settings.

The Adobe Captivate Asset Panel simplifies managing various objects within your e-learning courses, making it easier to create projects faster.

How to launch the Asset Panel

On the lower-left corner of Adobe Captivate, select Assets.

The Panel consists of the following categories of assets:

  • Slide templates
  • Characters
  • Images
  • Icons
  • Audio
  • Videos

Insert a slide template

You can insert a slide into a project. Select the slides that you want to insert into a project and select Insert.

Insert a character

  1. Add a Single Character content block on a slide. Select Add media blocks > Single Character.

  2. Select Assets in the lower-left corner.

    Alternatively, you can select the character, and select the folder icon in the Image source section to replace the character.

  3. On the Assets Panel, expand the Characters menu to display the list of characters you can insert.

  4. Select any character and drag it on the image placeholder on the slide.

  5. Select a pose and click Replace Poses.

Insert an image or image grid

  1. Select Add media blocks > Image Grid.

  2. Launch the Asset Panel from the lower-right corner.

  3. Expand the Images menu to display the list of images you can insert.

  4. Select an image from the list of images.

  5. Drag the image and drop it into the image content block on the slide.

Insert an icon

  1. Select Add media blocks > SVG.

  2. Launch the Asset Panel from the lower-right corner.

  3. Expand the Icons menu to list the icons you can insert.

  4. Select an icon from the list of icons.

  5. Drag the icon and drop it into the SVG content block on the slide.

Insert an audio

Make your eLearning more personal by providing audio responses to interactions. 

Insert audio for any slides and object. Use audio files for background audio or associate audio with any event, such as quizzing or other projects.

For example, add audio to an SVG content, and then modify the properties of the audio file.

  1. Select Assets in the lower-left corner of Adobe Captivate.

  2. Expand the section Audio.

  3. Select the SVG content on the slide.

  4. Select audio from the list.

  5. Click Add to object. The audio is now added to the SVG.

Insert a video

  1. On a slide, select Add media blocks > Slide Video.

  2. Launch the Asset Panel from the lower-right corner.

  3. Expand the Videos section.

  4. Select a video from the list of videos.

  5. Drag the video and drop it into the video content block on the slide. After adding the video, change the properties of the video, such as replacing the thumbnail, adding Closed Captions, changing the opacity of the thumbnail, or changing the Aspect Ratio.
