What to do when Adobe Captivate (2017 release) fails to activate upon launch.

Problem

When trying to launch Adobe Captivate (2017 release), you encounter the error message, shown below:

Unable to activate Adobe Captivate 2017

If you click Try Again, you get the following pop-up message:

Please connect to the Internet and retry.

Even though you are connected and after clicking Retry, the pop-up appears regardless.

Solution

  1. Launch the Creative Cloud desktop app.

    Note:

    If you do not see the Creative Cloud desktop app, then update the Adobe Application Manager.

  2. Click your profile image and click Sign out.

  3. Re-launch Adobe Captivate and then sign in using your Adobe ID and password.

Once your Adobe credentials are validated, Adobe Captivate (2017 release) launches successfully.
