Solution: Reduce the number of cores available to the CPU

The issue is due to a problem with the multiprocessing that is being used during the media encoding process. To fix it, reduce the number of cores available to the CPU to a safe amount.

  1. In the start menu, under search programs and files, type in MSCONFIG and launch msconfig.exe
  2. In the System Configuration Utility, choose the Boot tab.
  3. Click Advanced options.
  4. Place a check mark in Number of processors:
  5. Change the drop-down list to read 32 or less.
