If you have installed Adobe Photoshop Elements on machines which have Virtualization Based Security enabled with Secure boot in UEFI mode,  your machine may not boot.

Disable secure boot mode from boot menu

  1. Turn off your machine.

  2. Turn on your machine and go to Boot menu from the start up screen.

  3.  Turn off Secure Boot and save the setting.

  4. Restart your machine.

Once your machine reboots successfully after you have disabled the Secure Boot mode, follow these steps:

  1. Go to path: C:\Windows\System32\drivers\

  2. Search for file PxHlpa64.sy and press Shift + Delete to permanently it from your machine.

    Search for this file in the given path
  3. Go to path C:\Windows\System32\CatRoot\

  4. Search for file pxhlpa64.cat

  5. Press Shift + Delete to delete this file permanently from your machine and reboot your machine.

    Permanently delete the given file

Once you have followed the above steps to delete the files, enable Secure Boot mode and reboot your machine once again.

In case you are unable to reboot the machine into secure boot after you delete the files, contact Adobe Support.
