Adobe® Remote Update Manager provides a command-line interface that facilitates the remote deployment of the majority of Adobe desktop suite updates on client machines that are specific to the applications installed on that system. Therefore, the administrator need not log into each client machine and run the updates. For more information on usage and syntax of Adobe Remote Update Manager, see Using Adobe Remote Update Manager.

Note:

For applications listed in this page, use the parameter --productVersion (instead of -channelIds) as explained in the table Remote Update Manager syntax and description. –channelIds parameter is not applicable for applying updates for these apps/versions.

You can use the parameter –channelIds=<channel_id_1,channel_id_2, ...> of Adobe Remote Update Manager to remotely deploy only the updates that you specify instead of mandatorily deploying all updates. You can specify one or more updates to be deployed remotely.

In the syntax, channel_id represents the id for the specified product. Updates for any other products or components that are recommended to be installed with the specified product will also be deployed.

If the –channelIds parameter is not specified, all the available updates for the installed products will be deployed.

The list of products and the corresponding channel ids for Adobe Creative Cloud™ as well as Adobe Creative Suite® is provided here. For each of the product, the applicable channel IDs are listed along with the product version and platform (win32, win64, osx10).

For example, for After Effects CS6 11.0 for Windows 64-bit, you will locate the following entry under After Effects:

CS6--11.0--win64--AdobeAfterEffectsCS6-11 and pass the following parameter for remote deplyment: AdobeAfterEffectsCS6-11.
