This document provides information on opening and working with existing ColdFusion files in Dreamweaver.
Windows
In Windows Explorer, right-click the file and select Choose default program.

In the Open With dialog box, select Adobe Dreamweaver. Ensure that Always use the selected program to open this kind of file is selected. Click OK.

Choose Edit > Preferences to open the Preferences dialog box.

In the right panel, select File Types/Editors.
Select File Types/Editors
In the right panel, click the Add (+) button corresponding to Extensions. In the field that appears, enter .cfm.
Click the Add (+) button corresponding to Editors. Navigate to the folder containing the Dreamweaver EXE file in the Program Files folder. Select the Dreamweaver EXE file, and click OK.

Click OK.
Mac OS
Right-click the ColdFusion file, and select Open With > Other.
Select Other
In the Choose Applications dialog box, navigate to the Adobe Dreamweaver file, and select it.
Ensure that the Always Open With option is selected.
