Acrobat Sign Developer
This document highlights the new features, experience changes, and resolved issues in the customer-facing application for the most recent release.
Developer-centric updates to the API and Webhooks are documented in the Acrobat Sign developer guide.
Not all features/changes are guaranteed to be enabled on the date of the release.
Production deployment: November 13, 2023
GovCloud deployment: November 16, 2023
Improved Functionality
- A new Send page experience - Composing a new agreement on the Send page has changed to a more procedural process, starting with the documents to be signed and adding the recipients at the end.

The new Send experience can be enabled by navigating to Account Settings > Global Settings > New request signature experience

The new Send experience is not currently at parity with the classic Send page. It is strongly recommended that if you enable the option for users, you also enable the option to switch between the experiences.
- A new in-app Authoring experience - The new Authoring environment now allows the user to select a field type and then click on the document to place as many fields as needed. Double-clicking a field displays the field properties in the left information panel where individual properties can be configured.
Note that the new Authoring environment is only accessible when using the new Send page experience.

A new agreementStatus parameter will be automatically appended to the URL when the agreement reaches a terminal status of Complete or Canceled.
- Completed agreements append: ?agreementStatus = completed.
- Canceled (Declined) agreements append: ?agreementStatus = declined.
The new parameter is applied to all agreements, including manually sent agreements, web forms, Send in Bulk agreements, etc.
- Send in Bulk has been updated and improved to allow more recipients per agreement, more transactions in total, and more - Send in Bulk has been updated with a new interface that allows for the inclusion of many customer-requested features that are available in the standard "send for signature" process. New features include:
- Multiple recipients with individually configurable roles, authentication types, and private messages.
- Individual agreement configurations such as agreement name, locale, expiration, and signing order.

- Usage tracking has been added to the Power Automate integration - Administrators will be able to view their tenant's usage of Power Automate for the previous month and download the usage of their org for the last 12 months in the form of a CSV containing:
- Monthly Active Flows - The number of flows available to be used in the Acrobat Sign system for a calendar month.
- Monthly Flow Runs - The number of times a flow was triggered in a calendar month.
- Monthly API calls - The total number of API calls used to execute the flow runs in a calendar month.
- Dataverse storage - The total amount of Dataverse storage consumed as of the end of a calendar month.

- Private messages for custom send workflows - Private messages can now be configured for each recipient when designing custom send workflows.
Review the updated documentation for the custom workflow designer >

- Private messages for web form counter-signers - Private messages can now be configured in web forms for counter-signers.

- Ad hoc recipient groups for web forms - Ad hoc Recipient Groups can now be used when configuring a web form. Ad hoc recipient groups are defined on the template page and are only used on the web form where they are created.
Access to Reusable Recipient Groups is not included in this release.

- Web form support for Digital Identities - Digital Identity is a supported authentication method for added participants and counter-signers.

- Manual override to access classic reporting environment - The November 2023 release has promoted all accounts to use the modern reporting environment. Accounts that must access the classic environment can enable that option for users by explicitly enabling the switch link.
Review the documentation to enable the classic reporting switch link >

Be advised that the classic reporting environment is scheduled to be removed from service entirely in the March 2024 release. All customers are strongly advised to recreate their classic reports in the modern environment as soon as possible to avoid the loss of those reports.
All reports that exist in the classic environment continue to exist and can be accessed until the interface is removed in March 2024.
Scheduled reports from the classic environment will contain a message:
"This email is generated via classic reporting which will no longer be supported as of first quarter 2024. This report needs to be recreated within the new reporting experience. Schedules via classic reporting will stop if no action is taken."
- Transaction usage report is exposed at the top of the Transaction consumption reports page. - Customers who are on a transaction-based VIP license have their transaction consumption summary exposed at the top of the Transaction consumption reports page.
Review the documentation for Transaction consumption reports >

- Agreement reports have been improved - The Agreement report type has added a new Draft tile to the agreement summary page and a new filter that can filter agreements by their current Status.

- Reusable recipient groups have been improved - Reusable recipient groups can now be added to the classic Send page using the existing link. When entering the group name, a list of the available recipient groups is populated in a submenu under the group name field.
Additionally, a search function has been added to find groups either by the Group name or by entering the email address of an Individual member of the group.

- Block recipients in designated geographies - Administrators can explicitly block recipients in designated locales from accessing agreements using the recipient's IP Address. Recipients attempting to access an agreement or web form receive a message that Acrobat Sign is not available in their location. Currently, China is the only selectable option.
Review the documentation regarding the Block by geolocation feature >

- New authentication method: One-Time Passcode via Email (OTPvE) - A one-time passcode authentication using email has been added as a single-factor authentication method. This authentication provides a low-friction method to qualify a recipient using their email address when the agreement is being accessed. OTPvE is available when sending an individual agreement, When using Send in Bulk, and when creating web forms.

- Content protection for agreements - Protect viewing agreements, even after completing them, using the original recipient authentication method assigned to the recipients or a one-time passcode delivered to the participant's email address if no authentication was assigned.

- Improved flexibility for signature authentication requirements - The settings for enforced identity authentication (Account Settings > Bio-Pharma Settings) have been separated, allowing for a more granular selection of when recipient re-authentication must occur.

Accounts created prior to the November 2023 release must opt in to the new Enforce Identity Authentication configuration by explicitly enabling the update on the Bio-Pharma Settings page:

- Expanded support for Users in Multiple Groups - UMG is now supported in the following integrations:
- Salesforce
- Power Automate
- New Webhooks for unshare events - The webhook user interface has two new events that trigger based on unsharing an agreement.
- Agreement unshared - Triggers when a user explicitly unshares an agreement with another user.
- Agreement unshared auto - Triggers as a result of the "upstream" agreement share being revoked. All users that a "shared to" party further shares an agreement with are automatically revoked if their share access to the agreement is lost.

- Improved scaling of drawn signatures - The option to provide a drawn signature has been improved to better scale the drawn signature to fit the signature field, making the signature more legible.
Review the documentation for enabling drawn signature scaling >

- Users in Multiple Groups has been added to the Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and Word/PPT integrations - Customers that use the Acrobat Sign integrations to Microsoft's Teams, Outlook, or Word/PowerPoint applications can now select a group from which to send an agreement when sending through the integration.

Integration Updates
- Acrobat Sign for Veeva Vault v 1.3.0 to be released at the end of November
- Veeva Vault Library Upgrade - The application has been updated to a more modern and efficient Vault API library (VAPIL) for enhanced integration.
- Veeva Vault API version Upgrade - The Veeva Vault API version has been upgraded to v23.1
- The Integration deployment package has been enhanced to ensure no requirements are imposed on customers to use the latest document version.
- Adobe Acrobat Sign for Microsoft Teams with Live Sign - Live Sign allows users to get agreements signed faster by hosting a secure signing experience within a Microsoft Teams meeting from any device that resembles in-person signing.

- Support in the Salesforce mobile application for the Acrobat Sign integration - Customers that use the Salesforce mobile application can now use the Acrobat Sign integration on their iOS or Android mobile devices to manage their agreements.
Review the Acrobat Sign for Salesforce upgrade documentation here >
Experience Changes
- Transaction reporting now includes Fill&Sign and Self-sign workflows - Fill and Sign and Structured self-serve transactions (through the Acrobat Sign interface) are now counted in the updated transaction consumption report, providing organizations with a more complete view of their transaction volume and metrics.
Fill & Sign transactions used in the Acrobat interface are a part of the Acrobat platform and are not counted in the Acrobat Sign Transaction Consumption Report.
- Improved experience for Power Automate users - The integrated experience with Power Automate has been refined to improve the user experience with the following updates:
- Localization to other languages has been expanded.
- Supports Users in Multiple Groups.
- Access to Power Automate in the Acrobat Sign Sandbox using a new Sandbox connector.
- Supports downloading the agreement audit report.
- VIP customers have access to a new Chatbot experience when using the in-application guidance - The new Chatbot has been developed to improve the response to customer questions by providing a better, interactive interface that delivers suggestions for top queries in the welcome message, recommendations based on previous selections from the user, direct query support, and complex query resolution. Users are asked to provide feedback on the returned information to help learn how to reply better in future instances, and an option to connect to a support agent via chat is presented if the information requested isn't found.

- Edit web forms through advanced account sharing - Accounts that have advanced account sharing enabled can allow web forms to be edited by users or groups with whom they have shared their content. The shared to user or group must have the Edit permission enabled to gain access to the web form.
