Having a compatible graphic processor and graphics driver can significantly improve the performance of your device while using Lightroom Classic. If you need to manually install a graphics driver in Windows for Lightroom Classic, follow the steps mentioned below.

Manually install Intel and NVIDIA Graphics Driver in Windows 10

Megjegyzés:

If you are logged in as a Guest or Standard User, Windows will not permit you to install the driver. Some organizations do not allow users to regulate what they install and how they can manipulate the system and application settings. You may need to contact your system admin for assistance with installing the driver in that situation.

Before you start installing a graphics driver

It is recommended to create a backup of your boot volume before you begin manually installing a graphics driver on your device. For more information, see How to: Create a system image in Windows 10.

Install Intel graphics driver

Follow the steps given below if you wish to install the Intel graphics driver on a Windows device.

  1. Quit all Adobe applications currently running on your desktop.
  2. Click here to download the driver version: 27.20.100.8476 qualified by Adobe as a baseline driver.

Adobe recommends that the driver version should be 27.20.100.8476 or above.

  3. For most users, a manual installation process is required.  This involves uninstalling the drivers provided by your PC manufacturer before installing the drivers provided here. Adobe strongly recommends that you back up your system first.  You can find Intel's instructions on installing the drivers manually here.

If you already have the generic Intel driver installed, continue following the directions below to update the generic driver.

  4. Unzip the downloaded zip file and then double click the unzipped driver file (file name: igxpin.exe).

  5. Click Yes when prompted for permission from User Account Control.

  6. Follow the instructions given on the installation screen.

  7. After the drivers are installed, click OK, and then click Next to restart your computer.

  8. Reboot your machine even if the setup does not prompt you to do so.

Install NVIDIA graphics driver

Megjegyzés:

Adobe strongly recommends that you use the latest Studio Driver provided by Nvidia. For more information and update on the drivers, see the Nvidia documentation.

Also, NVIDIA has ended support for Kepler mobile GPUs. If you are using one of these devices, the system compatibility report In Premiere Pro 14.0 alerts you that your driver needs to be updated. However, there are no driver updates for this series. For more information, see the Nvidia documentation.

Identify your NVIDIA GPU make and model before downloading the appropriate driver to make sure you have the correct drivers.

If you wish to manually install the NVIDIA graphics driver on your machine, follow the steps given below.

Nvidia has stopped releasing Studio Drivers for older GPUs (9 Series or below). However, the latest Game Ready Drivers are still available and can be installed from the Nvidia drivers download page.

Follow the steps below to download and install an Nvidia driver.

  1. Quit all Adobe applications currently running on your desktop.

  2. Confirm the driver type you have.  Your two choices are Standard and DCH.  To determine your driver type, open the NVIDIA Control Panel and click System Information in the lower-left corner of the control panel.  In the System Information dialog, locate the type of driver next to the Driver Type field. If you do not see this field, you are most likely using a Standard driver.

    1. NVIDIA DCH display drivers are supported on Windows 10 x64 April 2018 Update (Version 1803 OS Build 17134) and later versions. Go to this link for more information regarding driver types.
    2. Uninstall the Nvidia driver according to these instructions.
    3. Before downloading and installing Nvidia drivers follow the steps below to choose the correct drivers for your Nvidia GPU.
  3. Open the NVIDIA Driver Downloads page and choose the Product TypeProduct Series, and Product that matches your GPU.

  4. Choose the Windows Driver Type that matches the type you determined in step 2.

  5. Choose the Download Type that best matches the Product Type you selected in step 3:

    • For Quadro GPUs choose Optimal Driver for Enterprise (ODE)
    • For GeForce or TITAN GPUs choose Studio Driver (SD)
  6. Choose your appropriate Language.

  7. Click Search to be taken to the appropriate page where you can click Download to get the driver installer.

  8. After the driver installer has been downloaded, double-click the installer .exe file to begin installation according to the instructions in this Nvidia article.

Verify driver installation

To verify if your driver installation was successful, follow the steps given below:
