System requirements for InDesign Server

Ensure that your computer meets the minimum system requirements outlined below to use InDesign Server December (version 21.0) and later.

Applicable for: InDesign Server 2026 version 21.0 release and later.

Processor	Multicore Intel processor (with 64-bit support). Advanced Vector Extensions 2 (AVX2) Support required.
Operating system	Microsoft® Windows Server 2022 and Windows Server 2025
RAM	8 GB of RAM (16 GB recommended); 2–8 GB per additional instance.
Hard disk	3 GB of available hard-disk space for installation Additional free space required during installation (Windows virtual memory paging file size must be increased 2 GB for each instance of InDesign Server)
Internet connection	This software operates with the following license activation methods: Feature Restricted Licensing - Online: Requires an Internet connection to validate the license upon installation. After the license activation, you no longer need an Internet connection. For more information, see FRL Online Deployment Guide. Feature Restricted Licensing - Offline: Does not require connection to the Internet. For more information, see FRL Offline Deployment Guide.

RAM	8 GB of RAM (16 GB recommended); 2–8 GB per additional instance.
Hard disk	4 GB of available hard-disk space for installation. Additional free space is required during installation (cannot install on UFS, ZFS, HFS, or APFS case-sensitive formatted volumes or partitions).

InDesign Server is not supported on case-sensitive file systems, removable storage devices, and network drives.¹
