Use Properties Panel to quickly access the important properties of selected layers in the Timeline without the need to twirl open multiple layer hierarchies or open a different panel. It improves the accessibility of layer and object properties that speed up your workflows.

The current Beta build brings the Properties Panel feature for the Shape layer. The panel displays Layer Transform, Layer Contents, Shape Properties, and Shape Transform of the selected Shape layers.

How to use Properties Panel

It is a contextual panel that can be moved and stacked over other panels.

  1. In the Timeline panel or Comp panel, select the layers to edit or view. Or, click any shape in the preview window to open its controls in the Properties Panel.
  2. The layer transform and shape properties of these layers display in the Properties panel located at the top right corner of the panels. Extend the panel down to view the controls, or scroll down instead.
  3. In the Properties panel, double-click any property to open it within the Timeline.

Contents of the panel

  • Layer Transform: controls at the top of the panel control the layer as a whole. 
  • Layer Contents: lists the selected layers and the shapes included within them.
  • Shape Properties: gives you quick access to the properties.
  • Shape Transform: Anchor Point, Position, Scale, Rotation and Opacity controls specific to the selected shape.
