Apply presets in Adobe Camera Raw

Learn how to work with presets in Adobe Camera Raw.

Presets in Adobe Camera Raw are pre-saved adjustment settings that can be applied to photos instantly. These settings may include exposure, contrast, color grading, sharpening, and more. Presets in ACR are non-destructive and don't alter the original image data

Apply preset

  1. Open a raw image in Adobe Camera Raw and select the Presets   tool. 

  2. In the Presets panel, select from the following categories:

    • Favorites: Displays all the presets you have star-marked or saved, making them easy to access and reuse.
    • User Presets: Displays all the presets you've created.
    • Adaptive: Uses intelligent adjustments for elements such as Portrait, Sky, Subject, Landscape, and Background Blur.
    • Portraits: Enhances photos of people with options like Deep Skin, Medium Skin, Light Skin, Black & White, Edgy, and Group.
    • Auto+: Applies a retro-inspired look with improved automatic adjustments and multiple variations.
    • Seasons: Adds seasonal tones with presets such as Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter.
    • Style: Applies creative effects including Black & White, Cinematic, Cinematic II, Film-Inspired, Futuristic, and Vintage.
    • Subject: Generates tailored looks based on themes like Concerts, Food, Landscape, Lifestyle, Travel, Travel II, and Urban Architecture.
    • Video: Includes Creative presets specifically optimized for video editing.
    • Color: Adjust overall color tones and enhance vibrancy.
    • Creative: Apply stylized looks for unique visual effects.
    • B&W: Convert photos to black and white with tonal adjustments.
    • Portraits: Enhance skin tones and improve portrait details.
    • Defaults: Apply baseline adjustments for a balanced starting point.
    • Curve: Adjust tonal contrast using tone curve settings.
    • Grain: Add or control film-like grain texture.
    • Optics: Correct lens distortions and chromatic aberration.
    • Sharpening: Enhance image clarity and edge detail.
    • Vignetting: Add or adjust dark or light edges around the photo.
  3. Browse the preset groups that appear, and then select the desired preset variation.

  4. Hold and drag the Amount slider to adjust the intensity of the preset.

    नोट:
    • In Recommended Presets, hover over the preset thumbnail and select More like this to view more similar presets. You can also select the More   icon in the thumbnail to view who the preset is from and follow the author.
    • Starting with the April 2026 release of Camera Raw, the Style category of presets includes a Style: Film-Inspired preset group with multiple variations (Warm GoldRich GoldWarm B&WSoft EmberStrong EmberMuted B&WFaded BlueDeep BlueCool B&WLight SageDeep Sage, and Bold B&W) to add moody textures, dramatic contrasts, or nostalgic shades in your images. 

Create a user preset

  1. Open a raw image in Adobe Camera Raw and select the Presets tool. 

  2. In the Presets panel, select More, and then select Create Preset from the menu.

  3. In the Create Preset dialog box, specify a Name for your preset, select the desired Subset options, and then select Save.  

    नोट:

    The saved preset is added to the User Presets list in the Presets panel.

  4. The current edit settings of the image are saved as a user preset. 

Update a user preset

  1. In the Presets panel, select User Presets.

  2. Select the preset you want to update, and then select the Edit   tool. 

  3. In the Edit panel, adjust settings as required, and then select the Presets tool.

  4. In the Presets panel, right-click the preset you want to update,  and then select Update with Current Settings.

  5. In the Update Preset dialog box, select OK.

Delete a user preset

  1. In the Detail view, select the Presets tool.

  2. In the Presets panel, right-click a user preset and select Delete Preset from the menu that appears.

  3. In the Delete Preset dialog, select Yes to confirm the action. Otherwise, select No.
