Insert HTML5 video and audio
You can insert HTML5 video and HTML5 audio into web pages using Dreamweaver. The video and audio elements in HTML5 specify a standard way to embed and display video and audio on a web page.

Insert HTML5 semantic elements from the Insert panel
Select Layout in the Insert (Window > Insert) panel for a list of semantic elements that you can insert in your HTML5 page layout. To edit the properties of inserted semantic elements, select an element and edit its properties in the Properties panel.
You can also use the Insert menu (Insert > Layout) to insert semantic tags.
The seven new semantic tags for this release: Article, Aside, HGroup, Navigation, Section, Header, and Footer.

Import Adobe Edge Animate compositions
As of November 2015, Edge Animate is no longer being actively developed. For more information, see Edge family of products | End of development.
You can import Adobe Edge Animate compositions (OAM files) into Dreamweaver. The composition is placed at the location of the cursor.
Dreamweaver places the extracted contents of the OAM file in a folder named edgeanimate_assets by default. You can change the default location in the Site Setup dialog.

Support for HTML5 Canvas
The Canvas element in HTML5 is a container for dynamically generated graphics. These graphics are created at runtime using a scripting language such as JavaScript. For more information, see the article HTML5 Canvas.
The Canvas element has ID, height, and weight attributes.
- To locate the Canvas element, select Insert > Canvas. Alternatively, open the Insert panel (Window > Insert), and select Common from the menu.
- To edit the properties of the Canvas element, select the element and edit its properties in the Properties panel.
Enhancements to HTML5 support for form elements
As part of HTML5 support, new attributes have been added to the Properties panel for form elements. In addition, four new form elements (E-mail, search, telephone, URL) have been introduced in the Forms section of the Insert panel.

Live Search (Mac OS)
Use Live Search to locate files based on filename or text present in files. The site selected in the Files panel is used for search.
Live Search uses the Spotlight API in Mac OS. Any customization that you apply to Spotlight preferences is also used for Live Search. Spotlight displays all files on your computer that match your search query. Live Search searches files in the root folder of the site currently selected in the Files panel.

FTP enhancements
Automatically Upload Files to Server on Save
This option allows files to be uploaded to the server even if a parallel upload or download process is in progress during the save operation. Some issues with this feature in the previous release have been fixed to make it seamless.
Continue working with Dreamweaver when downloading Business Catalyst Site
Selecting Automatic Upload Files to Server on Save does not disrupt your work with Dreamweaver when downloading the Business Catalyst site.
Enhancements to the Adobe ID Password dialog
Your Adobe ID that you selected during installation is displayed in this dialog. Options to save your password and retrieve forgotten passwords are available.
Improvements to handling fonts
The font list in the Font menu has been classified based on system fonts and web fonts. The system fonts are listed first in the menu.
- The Web Fonts Manager (Modify > Web Fonts) dialog is renamed to Web Fonts Suitcase. You can use the Web Fonts suitcase to add web fonts to the fonts list.
- The Add Fonts button is renamed to Add Local Font.
- Separate icons help easily identify system fonts from web fonts.
Reorganized Insert menu
