Remove distractions in photos with Generative Remove

The before and after image of a scenery after applying the Generative AI feature in the Remove tool.

Easily remove unwanted objects and distractions in a photo with the Generative Remove, powered by Adobe Firely generative AI. Once you identify and highlight an object using the brush mask, Adobe Firefly automatically removes it and generates a fill that blends with the rest of the frame flawlessly. 

Select the Remove tool to access Generative AI and Object Aware options. The Generative Remove feature is available as Early Access across all Lightroom surfaces.

The Heal tool in Lightroom has been renamed as the Remove tool. When you select the Remove tool, you can access the Remove, Heal, Clone, and Red Eye tools. 

Add aesthetic blur to your photos with Lens Blur

(Available in Lightroom on desktop and mobile)

Previously available as Early Access, the AI-powered Lens Blur tool is now ready for general availability with enhanced features and improvements. Experience improved subject detection, ability to create custom presets, easy Refinement options, batch edit settings, and Focus Range slider for greater control over the focus range. 

You can also access a new category of Premium presets - Adaptive: Blur Background presets for quicker editing results.

Archive photos from the Cloud and edit them Locally 

(Available only in Lightroom on desktop)

Free up space from the Cloud storage and efficiently manage and edit photos locally in Lightroom. When you archive the photos from the Cloud, Lightrooms allows you to organize and store the images locally using the Archive to Local Storage dialog box.

Edit videos using Curve controls

(Available only in Lightroom on desktop)

You can now edit videos using the Curve controls in Lightroom. The Curve tool gives you greater control over tonal range and contrast in your videos. However, the Refine Saturation slider is unavailable while editing videos using the Curve controls.

Lightroom on desktop

  • The slideshow option is now available in Lightroom to view a group of photos. Select the   menu to view the Start Slideshow option.
  • Apple Neural Engine is enabled for AI Denoise on Mac computers with Apple silicon (macOS Sonoma 14.0 or later).

Lightroom on mobile

  • iOS - Easily set cache size limit in local storage. 
  • Android - Fasting loading time of Preview Negatives to help you start the editing process quickly.
  • Android - Easily delete your Adobe account directly from the Lightroom app.
