Adobe Missions are targeted sourcing of quality content that drive new earning opportunities for Adobe Stock Contributors. If your submissions are approved, you'll be paid for their use. By participating in Adobe Missions, you agree to the Supplemental Works Addendum.
Adobe Missions FAQs
Adobe Missions are currently available to selected Adobe Stock contributors. If you are eligible to participate, the Mission will appear under the Missions tab in your Adobe Stock Contributor dashboard.
We cannot share specifics about the uses of content from Adobe Missions for AI/ML training. However, by submitting content for Adobe Missions, you are agreeing to the same terms in the Contributor TOS which permits the use of content with models for a wide variety of purposes. If you or your models are not comfortable providing these rights to Adobe, then you should not participate in Adobe Missions.
Yes, after your submission is reviewed, you may choose to upload your best content on Adobe Stock but do remember to adhere to our content guidelines.
Authenticity: Ensure your submissions capture genuine moments, emotions, and interactions that reflect real-life experiences.
Casting: Choose individuals who authentically reflect diverse identities and experiences, ensuring genuine representation.
Posing: Keep poses natural and realistic, avoiding staged looks or direct eye contact with the camera.
Lighting: Whenever possible, use natural lighting for a realistic feel. If using artificial lighting, ensure it looks natural and complements the scene.
Props: Use props that fit naturally and enhance the story, avoiding anything that feels forced, cliché, or distracting.
Locations: Choose locations that feel authentic and relatable, supporting the story with the right atmosphere and lighting.
There are several reasons why submissions may be rejected. Below are common rejection reasons and how to avoid them:
Intellectual property issues
Trademarked elements: Trademarked designs, logos, or third-party works on clothing, props, or backgrounds are not allowed unless specified in the Adobe Mission brief.
Copyright compliance: Only submit original content that you own fully to avoid copyright infringement.
Non-compliant:
- Failure to follow all instructions: Submissions must adhere to all aspects and instructions of the brief, including both creative and technical requirements (e.g., video submissions should not include audio or slow-motion effects).
- Incorrect titles or filenames: Submissions must have accurate and descriptive titles or filenames that align with the content. If specific file naming instructions are provided in the Adobe Mission brief, ensure your submissions follow them precisely to avoid rejection.
- Offensive content: Submissions must not contain offensive, abusive, or illegal material. All content must align with Adobe’s offensive content policies.
- Watermarks or branding: Content should not contain any watermarks, logos, or branding.
Not relevant to the brief
- Irrelevant content: Submission doesn't meet the Adobe Mission's goal or requirements. Make sure your content follows the Adobe Mission brief and review the guidelines carefully.
- Authentic representation: Avoid overly posed or staged content, as it may be rejected. Casting should reflect real diversity, with individuals who genuinely embody the characters and experiences. Locations, props, and wardrobe should feel natural and fit the story. Capture genuine moments and interactions in real settings.
Similar content within the submission
- Similar content: Avoid submitting identical or near-identical content. Ensure your submission includes a variety of angles, perspectives, and compositions. See our Similar Content Guidelines for more info.
Duplicate content from another submission
Duplicate content: Previously published content on Adobe Stock or other Adobe Missions cannot be resubmitted. Only unique submissions will be accepted. Archival work is acceptable as long as it hasn’t been made available on Adobe Stock.
Technical quality
- Low production value: Poor lighting, composition, or unplanned content can lower quality. To elevate production value, plan all elements, including casting, locations, wardrobe, props, and lighting.
- Color accuracy: Avoid filters that distort colors or create unnatural effects; ensure accurate white balance for natural, true-to-life colors and skin tones.
- Composition: Poor framing or a lack of varied angles and perspectives can detract from your content. Use thoughtful cropping and proper framing to highlight key subjects and create balanced, engaging visuals.
- Exposure: Overexposure or underexposure can cause too much brightness or darkness. Make sure your content is properly exposed, with a good balance of light and shadow, so the subjects are clear and detailed without being too bright or too dark.
- Focus: Camera shake or motion blur can lower your submission quality and may lead to your content being rejected. Ensure the main subject is in focus, sharp and clearly defined.
To improve your chances of approval, carefully follow the Adobe Mission content brief and submit high-quality (technical and aesthetic) diverse content shot from different angles and perspectives.
Each Adobe Mission has a set number of submission slots. Once all slots are used, you cannot submit more. For example, if an Adobe Mission allows 5 submissions and 3 are approved while 2 are refused, you’ve used all 5 slots.
Yes, you must obtain model releases for all recognizable individuals in your submissions, as well as property releases for private or commercial properties, unless the Adobe Mission creative brief specifies otherwise.
No, do not share subjects or conduct joint shoots with other Adobe Mission contributors, as this can lead to nearly identical submissions.
We do not permit images that include mature, abusive, or illegal content, such as nudity, profanity, sexually suggestive material, or depictions of minors in inappropriate ways. Content promoting hate, violence, self-harm, illegal activities, terrorism, or misleading information is also prohibited.
No, submission deadlines cannot be extended. The cutoff date and time are always outlined in the Adobe Mission content brief. If you miss the deadline, save your content—it may fit a future Adobe Mission. You can also upload your best content to Adobe Stock.
Submissions may take up to 15 business days to be reviewed and processed.
