Dimension CC 1.1 | April 2018

This release of Dimension CC rolls out new features, enhancements, and bug fixes.

New features

Edit In Photoshop: Send any image from Dimension directly to Photoshop to edit. See the updates in Dimension as soon as the document is saved in Photoshop.

Color support: Dimension CC now supports Colors from Creative Cloud Libraries. Easily apply saved colors to the background, material, and other properties.

Snapping: The Move tool now snaps objects to the ground plane at the bottom, middle, and top of any selection. The Rotate tool can now snap to 1 or 15-degree angle increments while rotating.

Move To Ground: Added a new item to the Action panel and the Object menu to move selected objects to the ground plane.

Marquee selection: You can now click and drag in the canvas to select multiple objects within the drawn rectangular marquee area.

Customizable keyboard shortcuts: Change the keyboard shortcuts for any tools and menu commands in the Preferences menu.

Automatic model cleanup: Models that are imported without certain attributes are now automatically prepared, reducing possible errors and improving the visual quality of objects. This includes generating UVs and normals when none are present.

New languages: Added support for Portuguese (Brazilian), Italian, and Spanish.

Enhancements

Match Image: Improved the accuracy of perspective alignment using the Adobe Sensei Match Image feature.

Focus: Depth of Field has been renamed to Focus. Focused items now stay in focus when the view is moved and an in-canvas focus indicator has been added.

Offscreen indicator: When a selected object is not within view a new offscreen indicator will appear in the canvas. Clicking the indicator now automatically moves the view to the selected object.

Glass rendering: Improved the visual rendering of glass objects, especially when using solid color backgrounds.

Default render name: The default name in Render Mode now uses the filename if working in a saved Dimension file.

Improved .obj loading: Improved the performance when loading .obj files. Loading an .obj file now displays a progress bar and a cancel button.

Transform tool rework: The Move, Scale, and Rotate tools have been updated for improved usability and performance. The colors have been updated for improved visibility.

Improved drag-and-drop: Drag-and-drop can now target materials to the scene panel and images to swatches such as background image.

Saved locked scale settings: Locking the scale of an object or the background is now remembered through selection changes and document sessions.

Object numbering: Improved the way numbering is handled in the scene panel when creating copies of objects.

Selection and transformation: Selecting and using the Move, Rotate, or Scale tool can now be done in one action instead of requiring two separate click events.

Magic Wand selection: The Magic Wand can now make subtractive selections to remove areas from the current selection.

Multiple Render saves: Updated Render Mode to allow for saving both a .png and .psd with one Render instead of requiring multiple renders.

UI enhancements: Single-clicking the panel titles and labels no longer collapses or expands a section. The disclosure of Materials in the Scene panel has been moved from right to left. The icons in the Scene panel have been updated.

What's changed

System Requirements: The minimum supported macOS version has updated from OS X v10.10 (Yosemite) to macOS v10.11 (El Capitan). Dimension CC no longer prevents launch for systems below the minimum requirements.
