What you learned
Save as PSD
Save a photo in Photoshop’s native PSD format to retain adjustment layers and other Photoshop features. Treat this PSD as the master version of your file, keeping it updated as you work and storing it for future access. Save additional copies as JPEG or PNG when you need them.
Save as JPEG
Save a copy as a JPEG for online and on-screen use. JPEG is a compressed photo format that can make photos smaller for sharing. Saving as JPEG merges adjustment layers and other edits into a single layer and does not retain transparency.
Save as PNG
PNG is another format that can be posted online. Save as PNG to retain areas that are transparent, like a background you removed. Saving as PNG flattens layers and other edits into a single layer.
