Presets in Lightroom for mobile (Android)

Apply Presets in a few simple steps.

Presets are predefined group edit settings that offer a smooth editing experience on the go. Edit photos in Lightroom using Presets that combine editing adjustments to achieve a consistent and professional look.

Apply Presets

  1. Open a photo in Lightroom on mobile and select Presets  .

  2. Choose one of the preset categories - Recommended, Premium, or Yours.

  3. Browse through the available preset groups under each category and select the one you wish to apply.

  4. Tap the selected preset thumbnail to access the Amount Slider. This helps you adjust the amount and intensity of the applied preset.

  5. You can easily select   or   to modify the applied changes and achieve the desired result. 

Create user preset

  1. Open a photo in Lightroom on mobile and select Presets  .

  2. Select  > Create Preset.

  3. In the New Preset screen, specify the following:

    • Preset Name: Type the desired preset name.
    • Preset Group: By default, custom presets are saved in the User Presets group. You can also create a new group using the Create New Preset Group option.    
  4. Tap the Select drop-down menu and choose any of the following options:

    • All: This selects all the edit settings groups.
    • Default: This selects the default set of edit settings. Masking, Optics, and Geometry settings are excluded by default.
    • Modified:  This selects the edit settings you've applied to a selected photo. Select the checkbox next to the edit settings groups to select or deselect specific settings. 
    • None: This deselects all the edit settings.

    When selecting the Auto option in the edit panel, Auto Settings is enabled in the Select pop-up menu for Default and Modified options.

    You can also select the > icon to navigate within the edit setting group and then choose specific settings from the submenu.

    • Deselect options in the Light settings group as the exposure and light for all the photos will differ.
  5. After selecting the required edit settings, select the     icon at the upper-right corner.

    Your new preset is now available in the Library view of the Presets menu.

    If you attempt to create a duplicate preset with the same name under the same preset group, a Duplicate Preset Name dialog box opens with options to Replace, Duplicate, or Rename the preset.

Manage presets

  1. Open a photo in Lightroom on mobile and select Presets  .

  2. Select  > Manage Presets.

  3. Select the Preset Groups that you want to see in the Presets menu. Switching off a preset group will hide it from the Presets menu.

  4. Select   to save the changes.

Import presets

Before you start

Presets usually come as .xmp, DNG, or .lrtemplate files. Download the preset files on your mobile device.

  1. Open a photo in Lightroom on mobile and select Presets  .

  2. Select  > Import Presets.

  3. Locate your downloaded presets on the Android mobile device folders or Google Drive.

    New to Lightroom? Download the sample preset file and start your import preset journey.

  4. Select the preset file. Lightroom will import and add the file to the User Presets folder in Yours preset tab. You can create a new folder to better organize your imported presets. 

    Pro tip

    If the downloaded DNG presets are in a . ZIP file, extract them before you import them. 

Show partially compatible presets

  1. Open a photo in Lightroom on mobile and select Presets  .

  2. Select  > Show Partially Compatible Presets.

  3. You can now view the partially compatible presets in the Presets panel. Later, you can deselect the Show Partially Compatible Presets option to hide them.  

Export presets

  1. Select a photo and apply edit settings that you want to export as a preset. 

  2. Select the Share icon and then select Export as.

  3. Select the File type as DNG, Dimensions, Quality, and other options, then select
