Last updated on Oct 28, 2025

Create visually captivating content by generating images from simple text descriptions.

Try it in the app
Create images from a text description in a few simple steps.

On the Firefly homepage, select Generate in the left panel and then Generate image.

Under the General settings section, use the Model dropdown menu to select from Adobe and partner models.

In addition to the following Adobe models, you can also select partner models to generate image variations.

  • Firefly Image 3
  • Firefly Image 4
  • Firefly Image 4 Ultra
  • Firefly Image 5 (preview)
Note

The image generation settings will vary depending on the model that you select.

Use the Aspect ratio option to define the dimensions of the image variations you generate.

Select the Content type from Art, Photo, or set Firefly to auto-choose the content type based on the prompt.

Use the Visual intensity slider to set the intensity of the image's visual attributes.

You can use the Composition section to define a structure or composition by uploading an image and making sure that the generated image variation aligns with it. Adjust the Strength slider to specify the outline intensity and depth adherence in the generated variations.

Use the Styles section if you want to guide the image generation to match the visual style and aesthetic of the reference image. Use the Strength slider to control the adherence to the reference image.

If you need a specific style for your image, you can choose from the available effects and optionally specify the Color and toneLighting, and Camera angle.

In the Prompt field, enter a detailed description of the image you wish to create.

Tip
  • To write effective text prompts, stick to simple and direct language and use at least three words.
  • Use the Prompt features option next to the Generate button to enable:
    • Prompt suggestions: Let Firefly suggest prompts as you type your text description.
    • Prompt enhancement: Let Firefly automatically improve your prompts (Available for Firefly Image 4 and Firefly Image 4 Ultra models).
