23 Oct 2025
Learn how to have PDFs read aloud for enhanced accessibility and a hands-free experience.
Adobe Acrobat on the web includes a Read aloud tool that can read the text in documents aloud. This is useful for users with visual impairments or who prefer to listen to document content.
From the top bar, select Read aloud ![]()
The document begins reading from the start, using the default voice and playback speed (1X).
To pause the audio playback, select the Pause icon.
Select the Play icon to resume it.
Use the |< and >| icons to move to the previous or next paragraph.
To change the audio voice, select Voice options
and choose a desired option from the list.
To change the audio speed, select 1x from the top bar and choose your preferred playback speed.
Select X to exit the read-aloud mode.
