Adobe Scan lets you scan and import business cards into your device contacts. You can now scan multiple business cards as a multi-page scan, and select the ones you'd like to import.

How do I add my new contacts to Outlook?

  1. Open your Contacts app.
  2. Select the contact you’d like to add to Outlook.
  3. Select Share Contact (iOS) or Share as vCard (Android), and then choose Outlook.
  4. Open the attachment in your Outlook desktop app and then select Save and Close.

Can I email my new contacts from my phone?

Yes, you can email contacts you’ve uploaded with Adobe Scan from your native email app by directly typing in their name and selecting their information from the drop-down.

Do I need to purchase Acrobat desktop software to use the Adobe Scan mobile app?

How do I comment and edit my scans?

A couple of taps in Adobe Scan allows you to open your scans in Adobe Acrobat Reader where you can easily annotate or highlight text from your scans.

Can I import photos into Adobe Scan?

Yes, you can import photos into Adobe Scan. Select the Images icon on your Recent or All Scans tab for Adobe Scan to automatically recognize and retrieve photos of documents and forms from your library.

You can also share images from your photo library. Simply select the Share icon when viewing your photos and choose Adobe Scan.

How do I save my scan as a jpg file?

You can save your original image as a .jpg file by going into Settings > Preferences and turning on the Save Originals to Photos feature.

What is OCR?

Optical Character Recognition, or OCR, is a technology that enables you to convert different types of documents, such as scanned paper documents, PDF files, or images captured by a digital camera into editable and searchable data. Adobe Scan automatically applies optical character recognition (OCR) to your document and converts it to a fully editable copy of your PDF.

Is the text recognition (OCR) functionality free in Adobe Scan?

Yes. The Adobe Scan app offers free OCR.

How can I disable text recognition?

Disable automatic text recognition (OCR) by tapping Settings > Preferences > Run text recognition.

Can I change the text recognition language?

Yes. Change the language by tapping Settings > Preferences > Text recognition language, and then select your preferred language.
