This document provides information on the list of known issues in the Adobe Media Encoder.
Issue: Hardware Encoding on Windows systems with GeForce GTX 1630, GeForce GTX 1650, or GeForce GTX 1650 Ti NVIDIA GPUs with driver version 551.61 may have corrupt frames.
Workaround: Update to NVIDIA Studio driver 551.86 or later to fix the issue.
August 2024 Release (Version 24.6)

When an After Effects composition is sent to the AME queue, the links to the MXF files are lost.
December 2023 Release (Version 24.1)
Issue: Video effect manager in Adobe Media Encoder does not list fxFactory effects on Mac.
Resolution: Upgrade to the latest version of Media-Encoder. This issue is fixed in the latest version of Media Encoder.
Adobe Media Encoder crashes while attempting to copy-ingest some camera cards
Issue: Adobe Media Encoder crashes when using the ingest-copy setting to import certain file structure camera cards such as ARRI, AVCHD, Canon XF, Panasonic P2, Canon RAW, XDCAM EX, or XDCAM HD. This issue is in Adobe Media Encoder, which also impacts Premiere Pro as the application relies on Adobe Media Encoder for ingest.
Workaround: Copy the camera card first, then import through the media browser with Ingest settings turned off.
August 2023 Release (Version 23.6)
The export function fails when publishing media TWITTER (X)
Issue: The export function fails when a user attempts to publish media directly from Adobe Media Encoder to Twitter (X), given recent changes at Twitter (X) and to their APIs.
Workaround: This issue has been resolved for our next release. In older versions, users must export media locally and publish to Twitter (X) through Twitter (X).
June 2023 Release (Version 23.5)
Hardware-encoded HEVC files on an Apple Silicon cannot playback or seek
Issue: Hardware-encoded HEVC files generated on an Apple Silicon cannot playback or seek.
Workaround: Disable hardware encoding HEVC outputting.
DYNAMIC LINK COMPATIBILITY ISSUES (WINDOWS ONLY)
Issue: Using Dynamic Link between app versions of 23.5 with lower versions of 23.x causes rendering issues in Windows.
Resolution: If using version 23.5 of Premiere Pro, After Effects, or Adobe Media Encoder, ensure all video apps have been updated to 23.5. Exception if you're using Character Animator: since there is no Character Animator 23.5, you must instead make sure all of the video apps are an earlier version of 23 (23.0, 23.1, 23.2, 23.3, or 23.4), or, if your use of Dynamic Link for Character Animator is limited to exporting via Adobe Media Encoder, you can instead use the Quick Export command as a workaround, as it's unaffected by other app versions.
December 2022 Release (Version 23.1)
Export issue for H.264 and HEVC with Adobe Media Encoder 23.1
Issue: An issue affecting H.264 and HEVC or H.265 exports on Windows with Adobe Media Encoder 23.1.
The issue impacts H.264 and HEVC or H.265 exports to folders with names that use double-byte characters, such as Chinese, Japanese, Korean, or extended ASCII characters, like accents and umlauts.
Affected users will see this message: “File importer detected an inconsistency in the file structure of %filename.mp4%. Reading and writing this file’s metadata (XMP) has been disabled.”
Workaround: We'll let you know when a fix is available. But if you're experiencing this issue, use one of these options:
- Choose an export destination folder that uses only single-byte ASCII English characters (no accents, umlauts, etc.).
- Export to a different format, such as Apple ProRes.
- For H.264 exports only: Disable hardware-accelerated encoding.
October 2022 Release (Version 23.0)
Notifications on Encoding or Queue Completion are not shown on macOS 13.
June 2022 Release (Version 22.5)
- Media Encoder hangs when you try to close the application after pausing the queue.
- Media Encoder hangs when you try to stop the queue after pausing it.
- Media Encoder is unable to publish videos directly to Facebook. The login to Facebook may fail. Even if the login is successful, the upload will be rejected by Facebook. As a workaround, media should be exported to the local computer and then uploaded via the Facebook website.
April 2022 Release (Version 22.3.1)
Rendering issues
In Premiere Pro or Media Encoder on M1 Pro, M1 Max and M1 Ultra systems, the following errors can result when rendering to ProRes 4444 and ProRes 4444XQ codec variants with Alpha channel.
The temporary workaround for this issue is to disable ProRes Hardware encoding using the Media preferences dialog (Preferences > Media).
- Deselect the Enable ProRes hardware-accelerated encoding, if available option. It is checked by default.
- Select OK and retry render.
Adobe Stock and Adobe Media Encoder
Adobe Stock is no longer available as a publish destination. To work around this issue, directly upload the video to the Adobe Stock website. For more information, see Upload your content.
December 2021 Release (Version 22.1.1)
If Premiere Pro or Media Encoder is experiencing out-of-memory errors on M1-based Macs, adjusting the amount of memory allocated to Adobe applications may help decrease or eliminate the occurrence of these errors. You can try increasing the amount of memory that the operating system uses to achieve a 50% balance between Adobe and other applications/OS.
To work around this issue:
In the memory allocation area in the Memory preferences dialog (Preferences > Memory), it shows the amount of RAM available to Adobe and other applications.
- Change the value listed for other applications to represent 50% of the total installed RAM.
- Restart Adobe application to activate new memory allocation.
