Symbols are the basic unit of reuse in Animate CC and can contain all types of animations created using Animate CC. From this release onwards, you can share symbols or entire animations via CC Libraries. Multiple animators can collaborate seamlessly and simplify the designer-developer workflow in game or application development. You can use linked assets to ensure that the assets are in sync with the original assets. You can also seamlessly import the animation assets via CC Libraries across supporting applications such as Muse and Indesign.
- Place Linked: Places a linked asset in the document. When the source asset is edited, it automatically synchronizes with the existing asset. Alternatively, you can also drag and drop the asset to stage to link them.
- Place copy: Places a copy of the assets in the document. You can also use Alt + drag the assets to stage.
- Copy Edit: Lets you edit the assets in the respective applications.
You cannot edit linked assets in the target document. You cannot access the symbol in edit mode and modify it. You can edit the source symbol only within CC Libraries. However, you can edit the copied assets in the target document.
You can seamlessly use animations created in Animate within other applications such as Muse and Indesign via CC Libraries.
Drag-and-drop the asset from the CC Libraries to Adobe Muse or Adobe Indesign, and place the asset in the required position. To enable responsive design across Muse and Indesign, ensure that you set the required publish settings in Animate CC. For more information, see Publish settings.
