Acrobat

Adobe Acrobat Pro with online services is the complete PDF solution for working with your most important documents across desktop, web, and mobile devices. Update your Acrobat desktop and mobile apps, or sign in to Acrobat online to experience the new features and improvements.

Acrobat desktop app

March 2023 release

To experience the new features immediately, update your Acrobat—on the Help menu, click Check for updates and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update process.

The following new features are introduced in this release. Click > to know more about the feature.

Adobe introduced an entirely reimagined experience for Acrobat (64-bit) desktop users last year for selected users. With the March 2023 release, the new experience is available for all fresh Acrobat Reader installs in the English locale. The new experience aims to provide an intuitive and seamless experience for viewing content and performing any action on the PDF.

With the March 2023 release of Adobe Acrobat and Acrobat Reader, the software version will be updated from 22.xx to 23.xx. This change applies only to the Continuous track of Adobe Acrobat and Acrobat Reader. For more information, see Adobe Acrobat and Acrobat Reader upcoming version changes.

Acrobat now provides an enhanced document scrolling experience while viewing or reading the document with Enable Scrolling Mode.

  • The scrolling experience on macOS has improved by 66% from 30fps to over 50fps.
  • The scrolling experience on Windows has improved from ~15fps to ~30fps.
Note:

Adobe is rolling out this feature incrementally.

The auto-adjust layout mode in Acrobat now supports the following key features:

  • PDFs containing paragraphs, lists, image, table and side-by-side content are now qualified for editing.
  • Keyboard actions like Cut, Copy, Paste, and Undo or Redo operations are now supported for content within or around another content.
  • While editing a column, the content reflows in the same column. However, PDFs with multi column content in which the content reflows from one to another column is disqualified and isn't eligible for enhanced editing using the auto-adjust layout feature.

In the earlier version, if you use a tool or its sub tools from the All tools tab in the modern viewer of Acrobat and then select the back button, Acrobat takes you back to the parent tool of the selected tool. In this release, selecting the back button takes you to the All Tools panel.

Note:

This feature is rolled out as an experiment and is not available to all users.

Acrobat modern viewer now supports plugins from third parties.

The anti-clockwise rotate button is now replaced with the crop button when you right-click in a PDF.

Note:

This feature is rolled out as an experiment and is not available to all users.

The Add custom page tool is now renamed to Design a new page to align with the tool’s actual purpose.

Add custom page tool

If you use the Design a new page tool from the right-click context menu or the insertion bar to add a new page from an existing template to the beginning of a document, the page size is adjusted to match the size of the selected first page. Similarly, if you add a page in between the pages of the document, the page size is adjusted to match the selected page of the document, or the second page before which you want to insert the new page.

Deisgn a new page

Acrobat now allows recipients to invite other collaborators via @mention, which wasn't possible in the previous versions.  The following prompts inform you of the @mention functionality.
