Brushes overview in Adobe Fresco

Explore the redesigned brush panel in Fresco.

The redesigned brush panel unifies all brush types into a single, streamlined interface that makes it easier to browse, filter, and manage brushes. You can now move the Brush controls to any location on screen, and those controls stay visible and in place when you switch to Full Canvas mode. 

Overview of the new brush panel

Adobe Fresco 7.0 introduces a redesigned brush panel that consolidates all brush types into one streamlined interface. Instead of having multiple brush icons in the toolbar, all brushes are now available under a single brush panel. This change simplifies navigation and makes it easier to browse, filter, and manage brushes in one place.

Select a brush

Select Brushes from the toolbar to open the panel. Scroll through the list to explore the full range of brushes. When you find one you like, simply select its thumbnail to select and start using it, or filter from the drop-down at the top of the Brushes panel. In the filter dropdown, select from All Brushes, Pixel Brushes, Live Brushes, Vector Brushes, or Library Brushes. After selecting a brush type, you can browse specific categories, such as Basic, Charcoal, Comics, and more. select on the brush stroke to select and use the desired brush.

Float the Brush controls panel

Drag the Brush controls panel by its title bar to any location on the screen, then release it.

Move the title bar to reposition the panel, which stays where you place it.

Switch to Full Canvas view. The Brush controls panel stays where you left it, so you can adjust brush settings without leaving Full Canvas.

Keep the Brush controls where you placed them in Windowed and Full Canvas views.

Manage brushes

Select the star   icon on the right of the brush thumbnail to add it to Favorites.
To hide a brush, select the three-dot   icon in the Brushes panel to open the Manage brushes modal, then use the toggle switch to show or hide individual brushes or brush categories.

Reorder favorite brushes

Organize your favorite brushes for quicker access by manually reordering them. 

Select and hold a brush.

Drag the brush to the desired position and release to place it.

To move multiple brushes together, tap to select them, then drag the group to a new location.
