Use Creative collaboration (beta) to edit and share documents

Photoshop (Beta) on desktop and Photoshop on the web now support Creative collaboration (beta), allowing you to edit the same document with your design partners simultaneously.

Note

Creative collaboration is currently in public beta for all users on Photoshop on the web and is being gradually rolled out in the Photoshop (Beta) desktop app.

Creative collaboration overview

Experience the power of Creative collaboration in Photoshop (Beta) on desktop and Photoshop on the web. This feature allows multiple members of your team to work on the same Photoshop document at the same time.

Simply Invite your collaborators, and they can meet you in your document. You'll find which collaborators have joined your document, the layers they are working on, and their edits in the History panel.

Creative collaboration now supports almost all commonly used features in Photoshop.

Live co-editing is available in Photoshop (Beta) on desktop and the web by invite only

Access collaborative documents

Creative collaboration allows different creators to edit the collaborative documents. When a creator is added to a collaborative document, they receive a notification in both the Photoshop (Beta) app and Photoshop on the web, along with an email containing a link to the document or a document link from the document creators.

Selecting the Open button will take invitees to the document in Photoshop on the web at photoshop.adobe.com, where they can begin editing the collaborative document. Photoshop on the web is currently supported on Chrome, Edge, and Firefox. Please use one of the supported browsers for the best experience.

Select Send to apps  > Open in Photoshop (Beta) to launch the beta app if you prefer to edit the document in Photoshop (Beta) on desktop.

The Send to app dialog box shows the highlighted Open in desktop app option to launch the asset from web into Photoshop (Beta) application.
Open Photoshop (Beta) directly from the Photoshop web to edit collaborative documents.

Once invitees join the session to edit collaborative documents, their avatars will appear next to the Zoom level for Photoshop web and Invite for Photoshop (Beta) on desktop. You can also see what tools others are using on both Photoshop (Beta) on desktop and Photoshop on the web. This behavior is currently limited to a selective set of tools.

On both Photoshop (Beta) on desktop and Photoshop on the web, the editors’ presence will be shown on the Layers panel to indicate the active layers everyone is working on.

Frequently asked questions

Q: Artboard is one of the key features in use in Photoshop, but it’s unavailable for Creative collaboration. Are there any workarounds for this?

A: We are working hard to make artboards available for collaborators on Photoshop. In the meantime, an effective workaround we've found is to create and open multiple documents for the various versions of designs your team created in Photoshop (Beta) and adjust the window arrangement settings to reveal all documents.

To adjust the window arrangement settings, go to Window > Arrange > Tile all vertically or 2-up vertical or 3-up vertical
