Latest version

The December 2022 (23.1) release presents new features and user-requested workflow improvements that enable you to work more efficiently in After Effects and design even the finest details without compromising your creative vision. 

The release includes Cinema 4D 2023 Integration and several stability and performance fixes in After Effects.

Upgrade to the latest version of After Effects

Upgrading to the latest version of After Effects automatically uninstalls previous versions of After Effects. However, Preferences and settings from previous versions are migrated when updating to the latest version of After Effects.

You can choose to retain older versions of After Effects. To do so, follow the steps below:

  1. In the Creative Cloud desktop application, select Update next to After Effects.

  2. On the You're updating to After Effects (version) dialog, select Advanced Options.

  3. Disable the Remove Old Versions setting.

  4. Download the latest version of After Effects.

Font installation

Adobe Product installers install fonts into a default system font directory. If the installer finds older versions of these fonts in the default system font directory, it will uninstall the older versions, and save them to a new directory.
