Learn what text you can include in your Adobe Stock design templates, from placeholder copy to brand name rules and IP requirements.
Adobe Stock templates are ready-made design solutions built for customization. As a templates Contributor, follow these guidelines to set up text correctly and understand what text you can include in your templates.
Restricted text content
- Don't use the following in your template text or layer names:
- Personal brand name, Adobe, Adobe product names, or other third-party brand names
- Real names or references to identifiable people, companies, or locations
- For mobile and web templates, such as UI kits and social media kits, intended for use with specific apps or devices, use referential phrasing only. For example: "for Facebook" or "for iPhone." Don't use terms like "Facebook template" or "iPhone mockup."
- Don't include brand names on images or mockups of objects. For example, don't use "iPhone" alongside a smartphone mockup.
Placeholder text
Use generic placeholder text throughout your template:
- Use lorem ipsum for body copy.
- Use generic names, street names, and other details wherever real-world references would appear.
Spelling and layer names
- Check that all text in your template is spelled correctly.
- Apply the same care to layer names. Spell them accurately and consistently.
IP ownership
As a reminder, based on your Adobe Stock templates Contributor Agreement, you represent and warrant that you own, or have sufficient rights to, all IP in the content included within your template file, including all copyright, trademarks, patents, rights of privacy, rights of publicity, and moral rights.
