Easily adjust preset intensity in photos

Update Lightroom Classic

The Preset Amount slider gives you added control over your edits by allowing you to adjust the intensity of the preset you have applied. To use the slider, follow these steps:

  1. Open a photo to edit in the Develop module.

  2. From the Presets panel on the left, open a preset category and apply a preset.

  3. Simply use the Amount slider to adjust the intensity of the preset. You can start from 0 and go up to 200. The changes are visible in the preview. 

Poznámka:
  • When you create or update a preset (click the + icon or select Update with Current Settings from the context menu), you can choose to enable the Amount slider. In the New Develop Preset or Update Develop Preset dialog box, select Support Amount Slider. If this option is deselected, the Amount slider will be greyed out for that preset. 
  • If you are unable to select the Support Amount Slider option, that indicates the selected settings do not support the Amount slider.
  • When you adjust sliders other than those specific to the preset, the preset selection stays the same.

Apply Subject and Sky masks in batch edit

Update Lightroom Classic

Backed by Artificial Intelligence, Select Subject and Select Sky masks can now be applied to multiple photos with just a click. This works for Copy-Paste, Sync and Auto-sync, and Copy from Previous settings.

To batch apply presets, follow these steps:

  1. Open a photo in the Develop module.

  2. From the Presets panel on the left, open and apply an ML mask (mask settings for subject or sky) from User Presets if you have any. You can also use one of the Adaptive Presets for Subject and Sky.

  3. Click Copy at the bottom of the Presets panel and ensure to select the Masking Copy Settings.

    After you've selected your preset, click Copy.

    Select Masking and confirm Copy.

  4. After you confirm Copy, select the photos you want to paste the mask to. You can use the filmstrip for this.

  5. Once the desired photos are selected, click Paste. You can also press Ctrl/Cmd-V. The ML mask will be auto-computed and added to the subject or sky in your selected photos. 

Poznámka:
  • If your mask isn't successfully applied to your selected photos, click Update All in the Masks panel or the caution indicator below the histogram. You can also press (macOS) Cmd+Option+U or (Win) Ctrl+Alt+U to update missing masks across the selected photos.
  • If a selected photo does not contain a subject or sky, then no changes are made to the photo.
  • Badges are added in the Masks panel for easy identification of mask components.

Quickly invert a mask

  1. Open a photo in the Develop module.

  2. Select Masking from the tool strip of the Develop module.

  3. In the Masks panel that opens, click the three-dot icon next to the mask you want to invert.

  4. Select Invert Mask. Alternatively, you can select Duplicate and Invert Mask.

  5. Once you're happy with the mask, use the editing sliders on the right to make local adjustments.

Other Enhancements

New crop overlay

You can now use a predefined crop overlay "Fifths". This especially assists architecture photographers to compose their photos. To access the overlay, select Tools > Crop Guide Overlay > Fifths. You can also press O when in the Crop and Straighten panel.

Better Preview management

Lightroom Classic automatically cleans up inactive and obsolete previews to help avoid unnecessary disk space bloating.

GPU acceleration for export

If your GPU RAM is above 8 GB, GPU acceleration for export is enabled by default. However, if the GPU RAM is less than 8 GB, then select 

On Mac: About Lightroom > Preferences > Performance > Use Graphics Processor > Custom > Use GPU for Export

On Windows: Edit > Preferences > Performance > Use Graphics Processor > Custom > Use GPU for Export

Loupe info overlay options

You can now change the Loupe view overlay info of the photo between Library and Develop modules.

Faster Smart Previews Purging

Experience less wait time when you delete Smart Previews.

New locales support

Norwegian and Polish are now supported in Lightroom Classic.

New Premium Presets

New sets of Premium Presets are now available in Lightroom Classic, designed to help you achieve your creative vision quickly. Premium Presets now include Adaptive Presets for Subject and Sky that apply settings to the subject or sky areas in a photo.
