If an organisation uses named-user licensing whereby each Creative Cloud license is linked to a user's e-mail address, it is necessary to sign in to Creative Cloud in order to run Creative Cloud applications. This is achieved either from the Creative Cloud Desktop application, or from within the Creative Cloud applications themselves, such as Photoshop, Illustrator or InDesign.
There are two types of enterprise account: federated and non-federated (sometimes called "Enterprise ID"). With a federated account, users use the same security information to sign in as they would within their own network (for example to access their e-mail), whereas an Enterprise ID, whilst being controlled by the user's system administrator and not by Adobe, has its own separate (and potentially different) password.
To sign in to Creative Cloud, do one of the following things:
1) Open a Creative Cloud application, such as Photoshop, Illustrator or InDesign.
2) If it has been installed, open Creative Cloud Desktop
Depending on which option you choose, you will be presented with slightly different windows, but the options are identical in terms of the sign-in process.
Type your e-mail address or domain name and move to the next field; if you are using a federated account, you will be redirected to your log-in page. If your account has both an Adobe ID and an enterprise/federated ID associated with it, you will be given the choice of which account you want to use to sign in to Creative Cloud. Enter your password and any other required information, such as a two-factor authentication challenge, and you should then be returned to the application which you logged in from originally and you can use the applications which you are entitled to.
When starting a Creative Cloud application on a computer which uses named user licensing, if you are not already logged in, you will be given the opportunity to do so. Click "Sign In Now" to proceed.
The second screen allows you to enter your e-mail address and password if you are using an Adobe ID, or switch to the dedicated Enterprise ID sign-in screen, which includes federated IDs.
Click "Sign in with an Enterprise ID" to move to the enterprise login screen.
To save time, you can instead enter your enterprise or federated e-mail address or domain name in the "e-mail" field on the Adobe ID login screen and proceed to the next field by pressing tab or clicking it with the mouse in order to then be redirected to your own login page without the need to open the enterprise login page.
Once you are on the Enterprise ID screen, enter your e-mail address and proceed to the next field with tab or by clicking with the mouse in the password field. If your account is on a federated domain, you will be redirected to your login server, otherwise enter your password and click "SIGN IN WITH AN ENTERPRISE ID" to complete the process of signing in.
The process of logging in to Creative Cloud Desktop as an enterprise or federated user is much the same as within an application.
Entering your e-mail address provides a quick way to be redirected to your login page; otherwise, click "Sign in with an Enterprise ID".
NOTE: if you enter an e-mail address which has both an Adobe ID as well as an enterprise or federated ID, you will be presented with an additional screen on which you can select which account to use for logging in to Creative Cloud.
On the Enterprise ID sign in screen, you can either enter your e-mail address or domain name. For a federated ID, doing so and proceeding to the next field (by pressing tab or clicking the next field with the mouse cursor) will redirect you to your federated login server, where you can log in using whichever process has been configured by your network administrator.
For an enterprise ID (i.e. non-federated, where the credentials are not necessarily the same for your Creative Cloud login as for your internal network account), you can enter your username and password in the relevant fields.
