Expand images
Learn how to use Firefly on mobile to expand the image canvas, add missing details, or insert new elements in the extended area.

Tap Generative expand.
Upload an image or select an image from the gallery.
Tap the Expand icon.
Use the crop handles to enlarge the image canvas. You can select and drag the image within the expanded canvas to position it as you like.
Alternatively, you can use the Width and Height options in the bottom panel to set the dimensions.
Enter a description in the Prompt field, or leave it blank to have one automatically generated based on the uploaded image.
Tap the Generate icon.
Choose an image from the generated results or tap More to create new variations.
Tap Keep to continue with the selected image or tap Cancel to discard the variations.
Tap Export icon to download the image or open it in Adobe Express for further editing.
Open Firefly on mobile.
On the homepage, go to Generative expand and select an image from your local device.
If you wish to edit an image from your generation history, go to Your stuff, select an image you want to edit, select Modify, and then select Expand Image.
Go to the Aspect ratio picker and select the desired aspect ratio for your image to expand to.
Select Generate.
Select the Save icon to save the selected image to your device.
To continue editing the image, select Adjust settings or Modify. Select Open In to open the image with Adobe Express, Photoshop, or Premiere.
