Fix crash issue in Illustrator 26.4.1

Is Illustrator version 26.4.1 crashing or freezing as you open a file?

If you've installed Illustrator version 26.4.1 and it's crashing when you open a file, follow the below workaround to fix the issue.

Workaround: Delete .runConfig file

For Windows

  1. Delete .runConfig file at:

    C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator <version-number> Settings\<language>\x64

  2. Relaunch the app.

For macOS

  1. Open the below path:

    /Users/<username>/Library/Preferences/Adobe Illustrator <version-number> Settings/<language>

  2. Press cmd + shift + [.] to unhide the .runConfig file.

  3. Delete the .runConfig file and relaunch the app.
