Update your version of Adobe Reader

You can solve many problems by updating your version of Adobe Reader or installing the latest version.

  • To check for updates, in Adobe Reader, choose Help > Check for Updates.
  • To install the most recent version of Adobe Reader, see the Adobe Reader download page

Note: The Adobe Reader updater is designed to keep your product up-to-date with security updates, quarterly enhancements, and bug fixes. Adobe recommends installing the latest Reader updates. However, you can turn off automatic updates in Adobe Reader (9.2 and 8.1.7 and later) by changing a Preference setting. Choose Edit > Preferences (Windows) or Reader > Preferences (Mac OS). Click Updater at the bottom of the Categories list on the left. In the Check For Updates area, select Do Not Download Or Install Updates Automatically.
